DOLOMITES: GO WITH KIDS DISCOVERING THE CAVES

If you’d like to spend a family day combining outdoor activities, nature hikes and fun, go for a visit to the Oliero Caves, you will do a double take! The caves are located within a larger naturalistic complex, where it is possible to spend a few hours surrounded by nature with the possibility of organizing a picnic in the equipped area. You can visit the caves only by boat, together with expert environmental guides, who will take you through this extraordinary site.

The “Zattere Ring” is an easy trail along the Brenta river, which starts from the caves and reaches the center of Valstagna town. Here you can visit the Ethnographic Museum of Valbrenta and cool off in the Calieroni graves dug in the rocks by the waterfalls of the Valstagna creek. Zattere Ring is so called because the people of the valley carried goods using boats built on large trunks of precious wood (Zattere). Often the final destination was Venice, where trunks were used in shipyards and for piling houses.
