Schiz: it’s the typical cheese of the Belluno area, you must cook it in a pan with butter and salt and it’s so called because during cooking it “squirts” droplets of whey. Schiz is included in the list of traditional products of the Veneto region.
Polenta and Pastin: Pastin is like a fresh sausage, often grilled and served with “Sponcio” corn Polenta; Sponcio is a variety of corn grown almost exclusively in the Belluno area. The name derives from its pointed shape, “that stings” (local dialect, “spuncia”).
Lamon bean: it boasts the IGP mark as it is grown exclusively in the territories of Lamon and Sovramonte. In In September the typical Lamon-bean festival takes place in the homonymous municipality (15 km from Arsiè), closing the summer season in the best way.
Honey from Belluno Dolomites: it has obtained the DOP mark and it’s really delicious, thanks to the rich alpine flora and the experience of the small local beekeepers.
