At the foot of the Venetian Alps where the roads wind through the countryside along the Brenta River, this town on the border between Padua, Vicenza and Treviso offers some interesting tourist and cultural spots.
First of all the famous Ponte Vecchio, also known as the “Bridge of the Alpini”(italian trooper), designed by Palladio in 1569 and rebuilt several times on the original model, leading to the small but exciting Museum of the Alpini which is right at the end of the bridge.
From here the view stretches towards Monte Grappa and the hills with the majestic castle. At the entrance of the bridge, an inevitable stop is the Grappa Museum and the famous Grappa bar where you can taste one of liqueurs par excellence of Bassano, the “tagliatella”.
